LUCA
I joined the Luca crew very early in production as the first environment look development artist in production. My task was to work in partnership with the production designer and art directors to help develop the overall look of the environments as well as the look and stylization of the film. It was an incredibly fun production to be a part of, and was a fun challenge to find the right balance between stylization and photoreal that the director and production designer were aspiring for their vision of a beautiful, story book 1960’s Italy Cinque Terre. Below is a small sample of the environments and assets I look developed for the film.
Island
I was responsible for the look development of the Island and Cove environments.
Portorosso
I worked closely with the production designer and art directors to develop the look of the shading of Portorosso, with a specific focus on the building color palettes, the painterly shape language & design, and the overall visual language of the surfaces in the piazza.
